Credit Karma Tax Social Media Campaign

The Challenge

Free tax filing was a new Credit Karma product offering that only a small portion of members had adopted. As tax season approached, I was tasked with creating a Facebook ad to build awareness of the service and highlight how it could save users money.

I developed the concept of using retro video game visuals to illustrate how most tax filing services lure users in with “free” products but then chip away at their refunds with hidden fees, like a game character losing health points. In contrast, the ad emphasized that Credit Karma Tax is truly free, helping users keep their full refund.
